I am from New Zealand, however moved with my family to Indonesia in early 2000 when my father got a job there. Over the years we heard stories about there being trains 'somewhere' in the jungle, with the locals knowing very little. When we finally got hooked up to the net I was able to discover the truth about the railway, and from this information we were able to find some of the remains of the railway, and start to educate some of the (more interested) locals about what actually happened.
I am now back in NZ completing uni, however travel back to Indonesia each year to visit my parents. On these trips we often discover more about the railway.
At the end of this year an archeological team is travelling to Sumatra to look at the railway.
